Details
Controlling and maintaining proper liquid levels in tanks and vessels is critical to keeping processes and equipment running, preventing costly damage, and having a safe and efficient work environment. A two level float switch used in conjunction with a dual level control relay is all you need to regulate your pump or valve which will maintain the level in your tank, drain a tank that is full, or fill a tank that is low. There are countless applications where tank level control is necessary. We manufacture float switches out of all stainless steel, stainless steel & buna, and plastics. We have a wide selection of standard products to choose from but we specialize in customizing sensors to your specifications.
Common Applications
- Sump pits
- Cisterns
- Cooling towers
- Coolant tanks
- Hydraulic reservoirs
- Pond levels
How does it work…
The Dual Level Control Relay has a single pole double throw output, SPDT, which means it can be used to fill or drain a tank depending on how you hook it up.
Drain Mode
The relay will energize when the liquid level reaches the high float point, turning on your pump or activating your valve to drain your tank. The relay will remain energized until the liquid level reaches the low float point, turning off your pump or deactivating your valve. As the tank begins to fill, the process starts over again.
Fill Mode
The relay will energize when the liquid level lowers and the low float drops down, turning on your pump or activating your valve to begin filling your tank. The relay will remain energized, continuing to fill the tank, until the liquid level reaches the high float, turning off your pump or deactivating your valve. As the tank begins to drain again the process starts over again.
The sensors shown here consist of some standard float switch products and custom level sensors that have been used by some of our customers in this industry. They can be purchased as is or further customized to meet your needs.
