Description
These sensors are used in applications where a continuous indication is needed. These rugged dependable sensors have 1/4″ resolution and are constructed out of 316 Stainless Steel. The output is a 3-wire potentiometer. If a 4-20ma output is required it can be easily hooked up to a signal conditioner or digital panel meter. The CLM is a sensible and economical choice when multi-point level switches just will not do. These sensors are made to order and are available up to 8 feet in length.
Operating Principle
A series of reed switches and resistors are positioned on a circuit board, which is epoxied inside the stem. A regulated voltage is put across the circuit, which is connected to either the signal conditioner or digital panel meter. The liquid level drives a float containing a magnet past the reed switches closing them in a repeatable pattern limiting the voltage across the circuit as the level rises.
